Katalin the Ice Succubus

Katalin the Ice Succubus - Morten Riber (Modo)
Description : This was very fun mini to do. It took quite along time, but it was definately worth it.

The wings were done by basecoating with Gw Regal blue, I then added some Vallejo London grey to the mix, slowly building up the transition, and finally I mixed Vallejo Sky grey to the mix.

The skin was done with a basecoat of GW Hawk turqouise. I then shaded some of the deppest areas with GW Regal blue. The highlights were made by mixing white with Hawk turquise slowly bulding up to the highest spot were white was added on its own.

I did the gold nmm with a recipe I got from Vincent Hudon: NMM gold was done with Scorched Brown, Vermin Brown, Leprous Brown and Light yellow #010 from Vallejo model color range, which is like 50/50 yellow/white mix.

The nmm on the sword was done following Cyrils newest article on Coolminiornot about nmm.

I hope this has been a help to someone.

-Morten

Love this painjob. The skin tones are very well blended. She just looks cold as ice!

Great job on the skin!. It is so luminous and so well highlighted. The dreadlock texture on the hair is a really nice touch, and the devilish sneer on her face is true to character. The NMM on the sword is awesome.

The skintones do come across as very smooth. Well done. The blade on the sword looks great - however I am not convinced with the gold of the hilt. Might be a tad too dark with too strong of a highlight at the edge. Maybe a more gradual transition. Also for some reason the transition from the model to the base stands out. Maybe the gap is too big - it seems as if she is lovering over the rocks she is standing on. Maybe a bit of filler would have benefited her a bit more.

Very nice, the skin tone is chillin. The back of the wing looks like it needs more contrast, darker bottom, lighter top.
PS Is it cold in here?

Dreds are nice ... skin tones look great. Maybe a little heavy on the darklining around the hands and sword hilt. Snowy base is nice but still is alittle plain.

Great vivid colours. I like the highlighting on the skin, really looks like she's in a bright, wintery landscape. The texture on the hair is a very cool approach.
