Sgt-Ch'coh-Tay

Sgt-Ch'coh-Tay - Mick Clark (mickc22)
Description : Managed to get one fished in time this month. Flesh was a base of GW tanned flesh finishing with elf, & some Foundry flesh tones in between. The tattoo was done with W&N blue ink. Trouser were done with Foundry's boneyard pallette with several glazes of flesh wash thinned with VMC glaze medium (new toy :-) ) at each stage.Armour is DA green highlighted with snot green to begin then adding yellow for each subsequent highlight, shading with a black/green glaze. Insignia is freehand boneyard highlighted with B/yard light. Metallics were done with VMC Oil, Natural & Silver again glazed at each stage with a black/glaze medium mix. Reds were highlighted up to yellow & a red glaze applied, although this seems to have made them a bit too subtle for the camera. the blacks were done using Foundry's black pallette. That's about it really except to say the base is only temporary as he will be joining the rest of the squad on a scenic display base, which is still under construction. Still not happy with camera/lighting set up,all I did digitally was use Auto levels in photoshop & add the gradient for the background

Nice detailing and presentation. The face tats are a bit too subtle, IMO, but they are a nice touch.

Metals look like they could benefit from a black ink wash and possibly weathered more or highlighted up with silver - as they stand they look a bit chalky. I like the bone color to the cloth - though in the face forward pose it looks like the background has bled into the picture. Chest emblem could benefit from cleaner darklining and higher highlights.

Nice work, I agree the face could use a little help and the knife needs something. Maybe some rotten ork flesh.

Painting looks good ... but it seems to have an overall yellow tone to it ... some brighter highlights would really help.

Face looks good, and the tattoos are a cool addition. (The skin looks a little orangeish, but I'm not sure if that isn't your camera.) I like the worn look of the green bags and pouches he's carrying.

I like your color choices! I think that the skin turned out convincing. I do however think that a little more silver on the sword might help! I really dig your emblems. Great Job!!!
