Dingo Appledimple by Philip Esterle (flynn)

Dingo Appledimple by Philip Esterle (flynn)
Description : It's been a slow month for me as far as getting things finished. I have about ten partially finished minis on my table, but this is the only one I completed this month.

This model is Dingo Appledimple, from the Reaper Warlord line. He's a halfling, if you couldn't tell.

Most of this mini was painted during the Reaper Artist's Conference back in October, but it was finally finished this month. I used Vallejo and Reaper paint (including the new Reaper Master Paint line). The base is from Epicast -- one of the resin cobblestone bases.

I was told that I need to work on my darklining, so I've applied probably too much of it in some places, and not enough in others. Also, I think some of the skintones turned out rather rough.

Poll results:
Number 16 overall.
Third Place: one vote

I really like how the gold turned out. What colors did you use.

I think you are right about the skin. The legs look a little rough. Probably this is just because you wanted to paint the feet dirty.

Very nice work overall :)

The legs are a little rough, yes, but she *is* a halfling after all. Chalk it up to either furry feet or trail dust. :)

what i like is the hair - people seem to use unnatural colours for hair and the one you used is pretty realistic.

This has got some beautiful areas, unfortunately, the legs and the base really do not seem finished. I think we could tell that it was a halfling, but the he-she was more difficult. Seriously, the NMM really looks excellent as does the face and the skirt, I mean kilt.

Nice earthy tones. Only part that doesn't look natural is the feathers sticking out of the quiver. I don't see too much darklining anywhere. The lining around the NMM areas is very nice actually. You might need more in some places like around the waist area.
