Elf Prince by Mahon

Elf Prince by Mahon
Description : This elf prince was another mini painted for Thunderbolt Mountain. It wasn't easy for me to make myself paint it. It was so pretty and had so much style that I wanted do do the mini all the justice I could.

Another example of Tom Meier's amazing job. I love the minis for their style - they aren't so exaggerated as eg. Games Workshop minis, and are pretty realistic. They almost ask for a realistic paintjob.

I based this mini on a 40mm round base, and painted the horse. I used a combination of layering and wetblending followed by several thin glazes to make the surface smoother.

The elf was painted with NMM, which was pretty tough in some parts of the mini, because of the tiny size of the details. As for clothes I decided to use green colours again - just like on the elf archer. The
only exception was the cape which was painted in muted reds to add some noble feel to the mini, which depicts a prince after all.

If you have any questions - feel free to ask me...

This miniature looks beautiful. It has a very natural look, both the clothing on the elf and the horse itself. I would love to see some closer pics.

Excellent paint job, especially the scale armor. The sculpt looks a little weak in the hand and the fact that the horse looks like it needs a few bales of hay.

Despite the tiny size, you did a great job with the details. One enhancement I can think of is markings for the horse for a more realistic look. It would be extremely rare (if at all possible) to find a horse with no markings.
