Gray wolf by Keith Koene (parvusmachina)

Gray wolf by Keith Koene (parvusmachina)
Description : This is my first time painting a "real" animal. I used many photos of gray wolves for reference. I started with the mini being primed white. Then I went to the colors on his back. Starting with black and going on to gray and ending with a bit of skull white around the edge of his face. The base is part cork and part of the original sculpt. I then painted the whole base black, dry brushed it with white, and then drybrushed over the white with brown.

This one really needs a larger pic...

From what I can see...I like the fur tones...and the fact that you based it off nature...

The base really looks nice...justs fits the figure...

This is how a wolf is supposed to look - well done :)

But I agree with houseofdexter - a larger picture is definitely needed.

Nice basing, and the varying tones on the fur are great - looks very realistic.

Very realistic indeed. Your use of models shows.
