I started out painting light browns over G&T clear primer. I shaded the wood up with lighter colors and down with inks. The skulls were given my usual bone treatment: dark brown, caucasian, ivory, all in blended layers. I wanted the bottom of the table to look like a fleshy spacescapeI wasn't entirely happy with the star effect, but I'll give it a shot again in the future. The tentacles are blended layers of tentacley green colors.

Very Cthulu, nice idea. I especially like the tentacle sticking out of the top part of the table.
