Dwarf Warrior by Orctrader

Dwarf Warrior by Orctrader
Description : Hi everyone,
This is my very first entry into GT, so be gentle with me!
This is my second "paint job" after painting the Chaos Warriors from the GW Starter Set, and I really enjoyed it.
I used CDA, VGC and Citadel paints and inks. The base was an experiment, and it reminds me of an old Irish folk song called "The Rocky Road to Dublin!" The poor dwarfs feet!
I used several techniques for the first time, and am particularly happy with the leather coat, which was snakebite leather then different coloured CDA inks as washes.
The experiment that did not work was with the metallics, where I used blue ink washes. Looked quite good to the naked eye, but didn't transfer well to the camera. (Back to the drawing board!)

I like the beard and the face most. Also the overall scheme looks very good - nice choice of colors :)
Overall I think you should be bolder with the highlights. especially the shield and the metallics would look better with stronger highlights. the metallics would benefit from some shading with a black/brown wash imho.
Looking forward to see more of your work in the future :)

The beard and skin look very good, and I like his leather jerkin as well. A bit more darklining around the symbol on his shield would improve the look of that, I think. Overall good job!
