Pumpkin by Michael Holzapfel (GunjiNokanrei)

Description	:	This 20mm tall Pumpkin is part of the box set Fenryll offered for the flood relief in Asia. It will be the Easter present for my Mom :) The painting was pretty straight forward. Most notebale is probably the color of the main body. I started with a wash of Vallejo Game Color Dark Flesh over white primer. Everything but the deep 'cracks' was then painted with Vallejo Model Color Red Leather: I highlighted up to VMC Orange Brown and adeed VMC Goldbrown and VGC Bleached Bone for the final highlights. The layers were kept very thin, but I wasn't worried about smooth blending too much because I think the rough, textured appearance is fitting for a Pumpkin. The green parts were basecoated with VMC Extra Dark Green. I added successive layers of VGC Dark Green, Sick Green and Goblin Green. For the final highlights I added yellow to the Goblin Green. Even though painting the mini was fun and could be done quickly (even for a sloooow painter like me) I must admit that I am not the biggest fan of the sculpt. But I know my Mom will like it :)

Cute figure, I'm sure your mom will love it! I really like the green leaves in particular, also the way you handled the lower part of the syringe. Some of the highlights on the bag look a little rougher than the rest of the piece.
