Alfred Redlute by Wren

Alfred Redlute by Wren
Description : I painted this figure to represent a coworker's D&D character, and used the Toadstool deadline to get my butt in gear on it. He requested earth tones, weathered skin, and brown hair. I wanted the base to be sturdy (I used to carry my D&D mini around in an old sock…), so that’s why it’s so simple.

The skin was painted using the new Reaper Master Series fleshes. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, but I think more practice should yield improved results, as these paints are a little different from others I’ve tried.

I also used RMS metallics, which are quite nice. I chose to use metallic paints partly because I wanted to practice doing layered and shaded metallics, and partly because I wasn’t sure if my coworker’s group would be familiar with NMM, and I didn’t want to have to explain it all the time. The rest of the figure used other paints, as there aren’t many RMS earth tones yet.

Great colors for a bard. Extremely smooth blending, especially on the lute.
As a personal preferance I would like to see stronger darklining, but that's just me ;)

Well Wren I'm glad to see you like metallics like me. Nicly done too! You are very very good at blending! The clothes and the guitar or what ever you call it look fantastic! Good job over all! The only advice I could offer is add some design detail. Maybe to the boots or to the face of the guitar. my 2 cents!
