Grey Knight

Grey Knight
Description : This is my first entry into the GT competition and I have decided to enter a Grey Knight painted in metallics, I'm not brave enough to try NMM on a whole figure yet.
The general feel I went with for this was a Grey Knight having killed a daemonette is throwing her head in to a lava pool to be consumed by fire.
I went with an overall hot feel to this, hence the red-hot halberd and lava base.
The lava base was a standard base filed down slightly to make it smoother and then I glued the small knobbly bit on a Space Marines back (the bit his power plant is glued to) onto the base to represent bubbles rising up. I then tried a bit of source lighting on the rock he is standing on from both the lava and his weapon.
The rock is a ball of sculpey baked and then attacked with a hammer and screwdriver to give a rough feel to it.
The crest on his shoulder shield is my family crest: a raven rising up on a white background surrounded by oak leaves, it symbolises strength through war and peace, which I have always thought was an appropriate slogan for a space marine.

Lovely lighting, and great metallics. Really like the base. Not too fond of the head in his hand.

Howdy - nice piece. I love the light reflection on his right leg the most. Subtle, yet effective. peace

Good work on the metals! It's great to see that in the midst of the NMM craze. The lighting effects from his Nemesis blade are very effective also! Excellent work!

First welcome, You have some really well done parts on this model. The metal, the blade, the eyes and the base are awesome. The shield and the lettering need some work. Still, great first entry.
