Spellsinger by Wargriffon (Martyn)

Spellsinger by Wargriffon (Martyn)
Description : I am sure you all recognise this as one of GW's Spellsingers but I thought that as I have finished this this month I would use her as one of my rare apperances here. Everybody seems to paint her as standing on a tree trunk when in fact if you look at the figure carefully she is actually coming out of the ground like a plant so that is how I have tried to paint her.. All colours are GW as I haven't weened myself off them yet. The robes are a blend of greens from dark angel green to goblin green for the darker robes and goblin green to rotting flesh for the lighter colours. Her hair is a mix of flesh wash (ink) and yellow ink which I am quite pleased with, the flesh wash was used because I ran out of brown ink :o)

Good color choices, and the hair looks nice. The yellow ink does give it quite a bit of vibrance. The eyes need a bit more definition. The gems look good, but you can go a bit darker toward the top part, before the white reflection.

Howdy - seems I always on response behind mengu, and he keeps mentioning the things I like as well lol. So, the hair is dandy! I appreciate your 'take' on the plants and I dig the rotting flesh highlights. peace

I like the hair, and I agree that the eyes are too hard to see. The greens however dominate the piece and as such, need more contrast. The underside of the gown and the cape should not match the topside.Still, nice work.
