Elf Lord by DocItalicus

Elf Lord by DocItalicus
Description : This was my interpretation of the Elf Lord by GW. I was not happy indeed about the quality of the sculpt, so I was not particularly happy to paint it. But you know, once you start you want to challenge yourself...so my scheme was unusual and I wanted to give a different look at the Elf. first the hair, a lot different. starting from dark blue and highlighted up to sky blue and whitish blue according to the zenital light. The yellowish stripes have been done to identify them better within the hair. Then the armour, not metallic but leather. According tot his, besides the color (from sand brown to whitish skin) I dirtied it with orange and brown lavages to simulate a used armour. The sword...I imagined an Icy Sword so all the technique for NMM have been applied to blue: from purple+dark blue to whitish blue again. Finally the cloak, using autumn/winter colors like acid green and yellow/orange, blended into each other (external part). For the internal part I used the same green but the other color was Dark red, almost blackish, same blending technique. So that's it, any comments more than welcome. Cheers. Doc

Superb color choices! Quite natural looking. The rock also looks very natural.

Excellent job on the sword and the freehand on the cloak. I think the three blue areas are too close to each other. Also the background blue makes the back view of the sword tip look as though it is not there. Still, beautiful piece.

Very nicely done. Good technique. The one thing I do not like is the color of the cloak. I think a more reddish-brown color would go a long way to distinguish it from the armor. They seem like the exact color so some distinction is lost.

One of the most interesting versions of this sculpt I've seen so far. Maybe a bit more blue in the color scheme than I'd like, he looks a bit funny with the anime blue hair. Cool theme though, haven't seen many winter style Wood Elves.

Howdy - NICE! Of particular note to me is the 'worn' quality of the cloak and armor. The back of the cloak is just amazing! peace

Thanks everybody for the comments, I am happy you liked especially the unusual characteristics, this is what I was mostly happy about when painting it and for the result itself.
Happy New year to all of you!
