Reaper Draconis Orientalis of the cestial breed by Technopaint

Reaper Draconis Orientalis of the cestial breed by Technopaint
Description : Okay, technical writeup.... the red-yellow is 40 layers between the red to yellow, the blue-green is about 30 layers, the purple-white is about 20 layers the blue-white is about 30 layers. The layering technique I used was one part paint, to one part 50% flow improver/50% drying time reducer to 3 or 4 parts water. I contrasted everything if you look close. The base is a mix of sculpty, green stuff, cork and dried flowers.

First, the dragon is beautiful. An awesome job on the blending. The base however brings this way down. Drybrushing the stone would be the first and some variation on the leaves would help. Still, very nice.

Mike, thanks for the comments. The stones are drybrushed, the dragon is light and the stones are dark, the camera washes out the dragon if I bring it light enough to show the stones. The leaves are have been died before I bought them, it bleeds thru any paint I found.

Technically I like this. The blending is very crisp and neat. I think however if you had used a more limited pallete it would be more impressive. Too bad the base does not show up better.

This a very cool dragon. I like the colors and the style of him a lot. I would have to agree that the dragon really outshines the base though. Almost makes me want to paint another dragon, but my mental health forbids it ;)

Howdy - Dragon is dandy! I don't think the base is all the bad, BUT it is in a different 'hue/world' than the dragron. Like they are two seperate pieces. Didn't someone once say try and slip some of the color from the figure on to the base? Regardless, very nice! peace

Thanks for the comments on the base. I wanted the base to highlight the dragon, and making the base darker really did that (I think?)
