Primed white. Reds are worked up from Scar, Gore to bloody. Then glazed with a 50:50 mix of bloody red and hot orange.
The white shirt was basecoated bone, then highlighted VMC ivory, skull white and titanium.
The blue pants were painted mid-tone-washed with my darkest blue then highlighted magic blue. The stripes were black, then 50:50 black and dark blue then a highlight of the dark blue. Once dry I glazed the pants with a single layer of the magic blue.
For the flesh I kept it darker than my usual “recipe” and added ivory after the lips were painted for a sun-dried, blistered look.
I kept the base simple as I have some more pirates to paint and I want them to tie-in as a group. Painted the base sand, then dry brushed with bone and highlighted with skull white, aiming for a white sand Caribbean beach – before the tourists arrived!
Poll results: Number 7 overall. Third Place: one vote

Nice job, you might try a little darker under his arms on the white, and a little lighter on the top of his right thigh. I really like the sand. It does look beachy.

The reds look nice, and I like the white shirt, although I agree that some of the shadows could be a little darker. Nice clean stripes on the pants, and good shading, but there I'd have liked to see a bit more highlighting, particularly on the dark stripes.
