Dwarf Grunt by Glyn

Dwarf Grunt by Glyn
Description : Well continuing to battle my lack of interest, I went down to our local gaming club where I am supposed to be the "painter guy" for a fun Paint a Dwarf Day. The kids had all of the new plastic GW dwarves assembled and sort of trimmed (I really ought to have done a little extra) so it was just a case of sitting down and painting! It was a fun event and we filled several tables with kids of all ages having a go at the dwarves. Of course, they all finished, and prizes were being handed out and I was still only half done...
Anyhow, I did his armor up in the NMM style (though rough by modern standards LOL) using various Vallejo paints, and continuing my kick with blue and purple, I did his tunic up to match the shield colors by addign the blue to the highlights. The beard and gem were done using Vallejo and GW paints and lastly, the base was painted to simulate dark and forgotten dwarven floors, deep in the heart of an abandoned mine...
There are a few other views in my painter album.

My favourite part is worn metal look of the hammer head, but I also really like the beard and gem. A very nice job, even without considering the time contraints or lack of interest you've been having.

Glyn, I agree with Wren, I like the beard. I also like that you were bringing others into our hobby. The NMM looks nice without being too polished looking. I am feeling the blahs myself.
