Professor Ramos by Ritual

Professor Ramos by Ritual
Description : This is the steampunk sorcerer Professor Ramos from Wyrd Miniatures. The mini immediately suggested an extensive OSL painting job. I wanted the colours to be quite bleak so that the colour of the light would be dominant. I painted Ramos with a dark grey coat and highlighted it using a light green, a light yellow and ivory. The skin was mixed with a medium grey to remove some of its colour, then highlighted with yellow and white so that the facial coulour would look tinted by the light. A light wash of green finished it off. Basically all areas were highlighted using the same green and yellow (and sometimes ivory if I wanted something to look really bright).

Excellent job on this one, too. Nice color composition with a limited palette.
It reminds me somewhat on the original black and white painting from EricJ.

Anders, really nice job on the OSL. Very subtle. Now we need Victoria Lamb to do this piece with a red flame. The little critter reminds me of a miniature underwater hideout from The Spy Who Loved Me.

I think your bleak colour scheme turned out wonderfully! Everything looks great, and I particularly like the way the flame looks delicate and not like a big piece of metal.
