Lich Lord Terminus by Lavron Yor

Lich Lord Terminus by Lavron Yor
Description : I started this by building a custom base. I used some incomplete pieces from a Hirst Arts mold, and a fair bit of plumbers putty (much cheaper than green stuff and quicker too).
Some glue and sand and then black primer for both the model and the base. Next, I painted the gold parts with a base of Brazen Brass followed by Glorious Gold for the highlights, then a brown ink wash and re highlighted the Gold. The green were just Dark Angels Green, Scorpy, then Livery Green. The wings were Charred Brown blended with Terra Brown and then a wash of Charred Brown. The purple areas were done with a Royal Purple with some black mixed for the shadows and some white for the highlights, and both the shadows and the highlights were very thin. The sleeves, the stripe, his face and hands and the bone sword were just Cobra Leather, layered up with Bleached Bone and then White. Finally, the wing blades were just Boltgun Metal with a black ink wash and a Mithril Silver highlight. Three levels of gray on the stone and brickwork and some static grass, and that was about it. One note about Photography, I found that increasing both the Sharpness and the shutter time to 1/13th second, on my 3.3M camera seemed to give me better pix. Please feel free to comment and thanks for looking.

As far as I can see, the paintjob is very good, even if it is too small for a deep judgment. Personally I would have made the character more "dark" or "old"...I would have enhanced the highlights on the wings and some more depth on the golden parts. A less "green" base would have characterized the mini better. Good job anyway, as some of my criticisms might be due to the picture.

I like this mini, the metallic parts look a bit too clean but overall a job well done.

Thanks for the comments, I figured that in between battles, those Mechanithralls are polishing armor, also, I like the base to be the land that he is conquering, hence the beautiful fields of Cygnar. Peace.
