Blinded by the Light!
Hirh Karn against morbid puppets
Description : Hi to everybody,
here is my last job, long and fatiguing, but projected for a long time. First time I've seen Hirh Karn I have immediately thought the dwarf was just before a great expolsion of energy! The position of the mini and the face give me this impression. Then I have inserted him in a dark cemetery full of skeletons (there are 8 of it, but not all could be seen in the image) in which to make him/it explode. I hope the effect comes out well. Up to you for the verdict...

For the gold nmm effect i chose: bestial brown, golden yelllow, shiny yellow and skull white- i know, is very lighty, but this was the effect I want to give for simulating the energy explotion. The beard and hair are meke with bestial brown base, highlight with bubonic brown mixed with bleached bone, than only bleached bone mixed with pergamen with of vallejo colors. The simple nmm are basalt grey, london grey and wihite (vallejo)- shafows with antracit black. The fire on the top of the sword are made with green stuff and colored with blood red, fiery orange, golden yellow, white and black for the top of the flame. The skeltons - bleched bone, skull white, choccolate brown (valleyo) and bestial brown.
I know me english is bad, but i hope you understand how i make this diorama!

Very nice work. How did you accomplish the effect of the explosion itself - is the ground sculpted up, or built around some other object?

Hi darthfoley, the base is sculped and to reach this sferic effect I post a litle christmas ball in the center of the diorama and sculpt around it. At the end the christmas ball was simply sacrficated (broken) for the diorama. Hope I was clear enough and hopefull! ;-)

It's easy to see that you were very excited by your idea and put a lot of work into it. Very dynamic diorama, and very nice paint!
