Sisters of Battle w/ Multi Melta by Arma

Sisters of Battle w/ Multi Melta by Arma
Description : Well, this is my first GT entry so 'hi' all. I'm Arma (Gaz), I post on CMON with the same name - I've been painting for around 3 months now. :D

My colour scheme was similar to one in the UK version of White Dwarf of some SoBs designed for city fights that Kirsten Williams painted. I was looking for a full range of blues from the darkest tone (Regal Blue 1:1 Chaos Black) right through to an almost white (Space Wolves Grey 1:1 Skull White) to keep the amount of colours used to a minimum.

The base is a similar cork base painted through a range of greys followed with random spots of VERY watery Catachan Green. Added some flock to the bare areas of the base.

I tried to make the head and face the most prominant feature using very light hair and skin tones. I think I pulled it off to some extent.

Poll results:
Number 10 overall.
Third Choice: one vote

That is really nice for only painting for three months. Great job with the eye.

The face and hair are fantastic. Eyes are tough to paint well so good work! I think the rest of the mini could use a bit more blending. There are a lot of pure black areas and that makes it tough. I would suggest starting with a dark grey base coat then shading down to black only for blacklining and at the depest recesses.

Thank you for the feedback - how deep of a grey would you use? Codex Grey 1:1 Chaos Black would be deep enough?

The hair was very simple - just a fotress grey shade, highlighted with very thin layer of white.

I think the Blue basecoat I used was actually too dark possibly..

The limited colour scheme works really nicely on this! The hair and skin are particularly nice, and that's a pretty astounding job on an eye for only painting three months. I like the shading on the light parts on the armour a lot too.
