Mabel, the Witch Child by Orctrader

Description	:	Great little sculpt from Cindy Dukino. Bigger pics here http://www.coolminiornot.com/131789 I built all the blues around Magic Blue. The dress, painted from dark to light, I added some Storm Blue to Magic blue and just kept adding Magic Blue to build up lighter shades. Final highlights were skull white. Some of the transitions looked a bit off so I gave the whole dress a single glaze with Storm Blue. The hat, Ultramarine Blue mixed with black. The hat band, back to Magic Blue and kept adding ivory. Skull White for the final highlight. The flesh was DF, washed with Ink Flesh wash, then built up with DF, EF and added ivory for the highlights. Then just glazed the cheeks with blood red. The hair, basecoated with Beasty Brown, then layered up by adding ivory. Final highlights included some yellow. The base is a pre-cast resin. Painted with dark grey, light grey – these are my own mix – then highlighted with ivory. (I might need another bottle of ivory!)

Really, really nicely painted mini. the face is Great, especially the eyes. Like everything about it. The only drawback for me is that some of the highlights on the robe are a bit harsh and could be blended in a little more. Love the frog too!!! Cheers, Grumb

So cute! I particularly like the healthy red glow on her chubby cheeks. The only weak part for me is the way the stones on the base have been painted, but that's probably just a stylistic preference.

I like what you have done with this mini she has a lovely warm glow to her face and you have done a good job painting the face and hair. I find the highlights on her blue robes and the neck scarf to be a little heavy though and maybe could do with a bit more blending in between. Very nice work overall though, well done.
