Pixie Trickster by flynn

Pixie Trickster by flynn
Description : This one was finished up right at the end of October, and was entered in the Wyrd Games Rotten Harvest contest. I had planned on entering a different figure this month, but alas, it isn't finished yet. It will have to wait for December.

This is one of the new figures released by Rackham for the Cadwallon game. It was well suited for a Halloween themed contest.

I wish I could remeber which colors I used for this guy, but I wasn't really keeping track. I do remember that the pumpkin head was done mostly with Reaper MSP Saffron Sunset, and highlighted with various yellows, and shaded with various browns (including some VMC Smoke). The Saffron Sunset color is a really nice orange that covers much better than any of the other oranges in the MSP line.

The green lamplight (and subtle OSL) was done with the luminous green triad in the MSP line. Many people thought this was a bad choice for Reaper to release in their new line, but I've found it to have many uses. If it ever gets discontinued, I might need to stock up on it before that happens.

The skin on the arms and legs is mostly the Reaper MSP golden skin triad. Probably a bit of fair skin for highlights as well.

The base is a piece of cork that was carved up to give an uneven appearance. I then added some white glue and sand for the rest of the texture.

Larger pics and more view can be found in my painter album here.

Enjoy!

This piece is fantastic, full of mischief and the pumpkin so lifelike. I think the colours used siut it really well and give it a dark atmosphere, the OSL is especially cool. Great job!
