Hiya, this is my first entry intothe Golden Toadstools! (and I only just got him finished at 5:30am deadline day! Although this sculpt is not to everyones taste, I really like the piece, but wanted to try something a little different from the standard Ultramarines. I started with regal blue, then added enchanted blue and then mixed in bleached bone for sucessive highlights. I am really pleased with the face, and have been complimented on the shaved head and stubble. This was very easy to achieve by simply glazing with watered codex grey on the desired areas. The freehand on the banner I found difficult due to the parchments in front of it and the shape of the banner, but with a bit of patience and persistence I got there in the end! The banner is only my 2nd attempt at NMM so I am very happy with the results. There is a fair bit of detail on the mini and I am pleased that I painted it all! All the studs have been individually picked out and there ate even gems painted on the powerpack just behind his head.
I am satisfied with the scroll also, and would advise people to thin black paint with ink when painting the 'wording' on to get a workable consistencey and maintain good coverage of paint.
Thanks for looking, hope you like him!

Very nice! The banner and scrolls look fantastic. Likewise the stubble is very nice. There are a few places on the suit (esp. the feet) where the transition from deep shade to highlight colour looks a little too abrupt.

Wow, the freehand is great. I also like the armour on the shoulder pads. I think the blue could use a wash to blend the highlights, but the rest looks really good.
