I wanted to do something fairly simple for a christmas mini and picked out this "Santa's Little Helper" figure from Hasslefree. The pictures are kind of crappy and I may reshoot them, but I wanted to try to limit my pallette with this figure.
I used a total of 6 paints, including black and white on this mini. The cloth is Ultramarines blue highlighted with wold grey. The fur is wolf grey highlighted with white. The skin is dwarf flesh highlighted with wolf grey and shaded with a hint of ultramarines blue. The rock and the NMM buttons are a mix of black and white, and the icey water is ultramarines blue and white. I used a dot of Red Gore for each eye (heh never said it was a good elf).
The base was painted and then I did maybe 4 layers of clear pvc glue over top to simulate a ice flow. Kinda neat effect anyhow.
Merry Christmas everyone!

This is a nice little entry, well done using limited pallette, and the ice effect base turned out well.

Nice work! I'm working on a similar project with a limited amount of paint, and it's definitely challenging. I think you've made grand use of your limited resources. The icy water looks great. Her face maybe needs a little more definition, and a closer shot to see the red eyes better. :->
