I started with the base. Used Milliput to sculpt a flagstone floor. Wanted rough, uneven look, which was quite easy to achieve with my sculpting skills ;)
This is my second experiment mixing acrylic paint with metallics for that “blue” look. Think it’s worked better but not right yet.
Boltgun mixed 50:50 with VGC Magic Blue, then thinned with water. Black and brown ink mix wash for the nooks and crannies, then chainmail highlights, with mithril on the extreme highpoints.
The animal fur was just dark, then medium then light greys, with ivory as a pinpoint highlight.
For the kilt I just used a dark blue and added ivory for each stage. The green “tartan” was VGC sick green with goblin green highlights. Used the same mix on the scabbard and "binding" on the weapon shaft.
Boots, just black highlighted with light grey then ivory.
I painted the flagstone floor Scorched brown, beasty brown then highlighted with ivory. (Used ivory a lot – again!)
Picture turned out a little too dark, but I'm experimenting with some different lights.

The tartan is a very nice touch, and I like the sporran a lot, too. I like that you used a warm brown on the base stones rather than the more common gray, and they're nicely painted. I think you need a little more tonal variance (some things very dark, some very light, some mid) to help the individual areas of the mini stand out better.
