The Triumph of Chaos

The Triumph of Chaos
Description : First of all, sorry about the picture. More images on my site (http:\\www.telefonica.net\web2\mergram)
This is the last diorama I have made. It represents a small battle scene between a Slaanesh Champion and a High Elf Mage. The Chaos Champion is stealing the soul of the unfortunate elf, maybe with a spell of using an enchanted item. Who knows?

The small red devil who is appearing from the ground is partially ethereal, as you can see by the fact that his left arm is also part of the wizard dress. The blue things on his feet try to represent some kind of smoke sorrounding him, but I am not sure about the efect. Any comment about this would be sincerely welcome.

I made a little conversion work on the Slaanesh Champion. First of all, I cut off the body at the waist and then re-assembled it slightly twisted to give him a more dinamical look. I also twisted his right leg to give the effect he was turning left. Finally I cut the shield and partially re-sculpted the hand. The painting was a pleasure and I tried a lot of new techniques. The armour was painted in a mixture of Shadow Gray, Fortress Gray and Skull White or Chaos Black. The clearest parts are SpaceWolves Gray.
The head is painted in a mixture of SpaceWolves Gray and Shadow Gray, with some Skull White in the clearest parts.
His left hand is supposed to be holding a light source (well, the soul of the wizard, indeed). I am not sure the effect is well shown in the pictures, but I am quite happy on how it looks on real life...
The Gold NMM is made with a mixture of Chaos Black, Bestial Brown, Snakebite Leather, Sunburst Yellow, Bleached Bone and Skull White. A very thinned layer of Goblin Green was applied to give the gold a more real appearance.
The Sword is painted with Chaos Black, Fortress Gray and Skull White, and then a very thinned layer (feather technique), of Bestial Brown.

Basically these techniques are the same for the high elf. The tunic is painted with a base of Regal Blue and highlighted with Enchanted and Ice Blue, while the Shadows were made mixing Chaos Black to the Regal Blue. The Phoenix on his back is hand painted.

The river is painted on the base with a first layer of Kommando Khaki, a second layer of very thin paint of Hawk Turquoise and finally feathering a lot of layers of Skull White. Some groups of small white dots were painted to produce the effect of sun reflections. I am quite happy on how it turned out.

The reeds are made of wire and a bit of green stuff.

Any comment welcome.
Thank you very much for reading and viewing :)
