Nurgle Lord Pestis

Nurgle Lord Pestis
Description : This is a mini I converted and painted for a competition on the Bolter and Chainsword forum.
The premise for this one is a renegade marine commander recently converted to Nurgle.
The body is from the Dark Angels Veteran Sprue and all Imperial insignia has been removed. I then carved up the armour slightly to give it that corroded, corrupt feel associated with Nurgle. The shoulder pads are Chaos marine shoulder pads, the right hand one was built up slightly with greenstuff before being drilled to represent both the Nurgle symbol and cracked armour. The studs on the armour were made with greenstuff before being glued on to the leg armour and left shoulder pad. The right foot had to be slightly repositioned because on the normal mini this would be flat on the ground and it just did not look right when he was meant to be flying so this was carefully removed with a knife before being re-glued in a more appropriate position.

The wings are from a GW Harpy miniature.

John.

Nicely done conversion. I like the rusting on the blade and the way the colours chosen for the basework make it fit in with the corruption of the figure.
