This is the Avatars Of War Barbarian; he brings to mind Conan during his time as general of Aquilonia's armies so I painted him with a more ceremonial look. The blue steel was done with Reaper Pro Paints Gun Metal and Blue Steel, and several glazes of a black/blue ink mix. Skintones were glazed with Vallejo Game Colors Skin Wash, since I tend to wind up with pale skintones normally, I did this in hopes of achieving a warmer skintone. I think it works well, but I probably need to thin the glaze a bit more next time. This is a great sculpt - I love his facial expression!

Nice job...I LOVE Reaper Pro's, and you don't hear much about them. The theme is great; you stuck with a basic mix of colors that work very well together. The only real crit I have is that the mini would do well with a few blue glazes on the skin. This will deepen your shades, and tie in the mini really well. Try mixing a little dark blue into your base skin tone, and darken the legs a bit. The forhead should highlight to nearly white, the upper torso 2 shades below, the lower torso up to your first facial highlight, and the legs shouldn't get much brighter than the base color.
Overall, splendid job!

I think you do have a warmer skin tone here than I have often seen from you in the past, though I agree with Jeff that there's room for a bit more depth of shadowing in places. I like the cold colour you've used on the metallics quite a bit, and you've painted a great expression on his face.

Kevin another great barbarian! If you didn't sell so many, you would have one heck of a difinitive Conan colelction :P
Good skin tones as always, and an interesting treatment on the metals. Only thing I could offer up is to try to make those gems stand out with some dark shading and light spots... It might really set the mini off!
