This was a “self-challenge.” A friend gave me a miniature that I would never have bought myself, so I decided to paint it.
Starting with the base, the animal skeleton was part of the sculpt, so I went with a barren landscape and added the human skulls – one aged, the other “fresh.” Both from a box of GW skeleton warriors.
The painting was Dead Flesh for the skin/bone mixed in brown for shade and Ivory for highlights. Used various browns/reds for the leather apart from the quiver – not visible here – where I used Foundry Buff Leather.
The bandages were just white built up from dark grey, mixing as I went.

Interesting paintjob on a pretty random figure. I don't think I would have ever bought a mini like this either ;-) The reds turned out quite well on this model, and I like the grey bands too. They have a slightly purple tint to them it seems, and for some reason that's working for me. Cool base as well, the old and new skulls is a neat touch.

Great vivid reds, and I like the creepy skin/bone look you've achieved.
