This is my very first plastic Space Marine! I started painting this guy many months ago at our local game store. I had gone in to hang out for the afternoon, and of course, I had to paint! He was already primed and everything. I know little of Chapters, so I decided to go with a green theme (gotta be lots of green marines). I used dark angel green, snot green and scorpion green (I think) on the armor. I wanted to keep it dark, with a high contrast. Next, I figured the trim had to be a nice warm gold, so out came the snakebite leather and white. The gun was fun, and done using various reds, highlighted up with light flesh (to stay away from pink). I recently added the chapter symbols after some quick research, and came upon the Death Knight chapter. Cool skull and the arrow. I also painted a few scratches etc. on the armor. I kind of wish I had trimmed him up... Grrr. Anyways, more pics in my painter folder :)
PS Looks like I forgot to change my Paintshop watermark date LOL

I really do like this guy a lot Glyn. You rarely ever see these older models painted to a high standard, and this guy shines. The color choices are pretty classic, but the paint chips/scratches give it a more modern feel at the same time. Cool blend of old and new school on this ancient figure.

Nice! I love green, and these are some really gorgeous greens. The gold is also very nicely done. The red gun doesn't entirely work for me, though I can't put my finger on why.
