Karnak the Watcher by Glyn

Karnak the Watcher by Glyn
Description : Well not much to say here really. I was at a local Convention (GROTSCon) in Red Deer, and since I don't play Warhammer, I took my paints to sit and paint all day. A kind fellow gave me some plastics so I decided I would paint a gobbo up.
An interesting bit about the painting is that in both the purple, reddish leather ad the green skin, I used bone white for mixing highlights and german grey for mixing shading. The checkers were done last to set him off.
The base is made of cork and green stuff, with a little mushroom on the bottom.

I love the thematic color choices. You've been cranking out a lot of GT minis lately...anything you want ot tell us?

Neat fig Glyn. The color choices are a bit curious for a Night Goblin, but they work together well and I like the way the bone hilighting blends them all together. I'm curious to see your recent models in person some time, it's been too long.

I forgot to mention, the nose and chin on the model are great. I love it when people do Orcs/Gobbos with a bit more complex skintones.

Nice work! I think using the same colours for highlighting and shading ties everything together really well. Weapon blade looks aces. The mushroom being blue kinda comes out of nowhere and conflicts with the rest for me, but minor point.

It seems that these plastics have inspired lots of painters out there to do something more with them. One of the best implementations here in my opinion! Really nice blending, wonderful skintones and of course the base. Great piece!
