Dirz Kayl Kartan

Dirz Kayl Kartan
Description : Dirz Kayl Kartan
I had a lot of fun putting this piece together. It is a continuation of the work I have been doing on a set of Dirz figures and follows many of the same techniques I used on my previous entry.
The metal was based in blue grey and the cloth in bleached bone. I then used several washes of golden brown, medium brown, dark brown, and black on both to give a dirty and worn look. I then highlight the metal using combinations of blue grey and white.
The base was made using a combination of hirst arts molds, pink insulation board and flocking materials. I documented the base building process and will publish a tutorial soon.
Hope you like it.

Great stuff. The yellow cloak works really nice. The blood is well done, as is the rust. The only small thing is that it looks like he's floating on the pins in his feet. The base is fantastic otherwise. Top-notch work.

Good catch on the floating feet. The photos were taken before the miniature was glued down. This is because this base is actually meant for 3 miniatures and that diorama is now complete and can be seen in the Isaak gallery:

Excellent job on the blood splatters, my only suggestion is a little darker surrounding the blades on his belt, they kind of look flat. I also really like his expression. Nice.

The blood looks good on this figure as do the blades, I would have highlighted the large blades some more, but each to their own.

Well done.
