Description : Thought I'd enter again this month as your comments are so encouraging.

Another loads of firsts for me here. First mini where I used a brush-on primer; painted camo; (attempted) use of metallics to represent “modern/future” weapons, etc.

I use mainly Vallejo and Coat d’ Arms paints/inks with some citadel and on this guy a little Windsor and Newton Galleria (black) acrylics!

Primed grey – VGC white primer mixed with black ink. The camo was dark elf green base coat, then highlighted with white added. Then I painted a lot of interconnecting irregular squares with dark grey – wolf grey mixed with black – left some DEG and used scorched brown and filthy brown for the other “squares”, highlighting both colours by adding white.

The weapon was gun metal base coat with layers of black and blue ink mixed until it looked like blued steel, then successive layers of very thin black ink to create a well-used appearance. The camo on the barrel was the same browns as the cape but I added white to the green.

Jacket and trousers were blacks – citadel - and wolf grey mixed. The boots and gauntlets were snakebite leather shaded with chestnut ink and highlighted with bone, then white.

The base was gun metal for the floor, washed with brown and chestnut ink, highlighted very slightly with chainmail. The sandbags were scorched brown mixed with a little of the Galeria black, then highlighted with the SB with some skull white added.

Both the goggle eyes and the gun laser sight are my first attempts at glass/gem-like painting.

Howdy - looks good. Next time around perhaps you could define the shapes in the camo a little more. I had similar issues with a spotted horse I did. I do like how the camo pattern continues on the barrel. peace

Thanks jimbob1066e.

This time I went for a deliberate blurring of the edges of the camo shapes. Might try your idea next time.

Thanks for commenting.

Nice work on the gun. You might try highlighting the cloak more, especially the top of the hood and the shoulders.

A few more highlights on the cloak especaially would make this stand out a bit more, but other than that a well painted mini.
