Narg the sadistic torturer
by Mahon
Description : I said to myself "I don't care what people will say! I will paint him my way!" And so I did.
I wanted him to be dark and sinister, dirty as a dweller of a dungeon might be... So I didn't use any color in its pure form - the skin was tinted with purple, added smoke to many of the colors used. For shading I generally used smoke+black (added to the shaded colors or layered on them).
I didn't want to go too far with the blood effect, so I tried to keep it a bit toned down. I used a mix of flesh wash, various reds, and even transparent orange. This was stippled over his shirt, shorts, gloves, and legs. On the gloves I added some glossy varnish to create the look of fresh gore.
The base represents a part of a torture chamber, with a rusty chain, a skull (to scare the victims ;)). The floor was sculpted by me, and painted in various browns, glazed with many other ones, and stained with the blood colors.

I can't speak for anyone else but myself, but I absolutely love this mini! It looks mean as hell, and the muted, dirty colour scheme emphasizes that.

I like it. Gory realism with a very effective base.

Howdy - man that blood on his legs looks great. Like it has half dried and mixed with sweat. Very nice. peace

Awesome job, the realism is what really grabs you. My only criticism is the polished skull. It does not fit the scene. I wouldn't want to be the one to tell him though.. I think his caption should be.. The Pulverizer.

I`m glad you`ve decided to paint this mini your way. It really looks mean and dirty :).

Wow, a great piece. I love the blood on his legs. Overall he just looks evil. ^_^
