Winged Hive Tyrant by Stef

Description	:	My entry for this month is taken straight from my Tyranid army. The bone was painted first, giving it a basecoat of GW Snakebite Leather, highlighting up adding more and more Bleached Bone until the final highlights were added with white. I painted in streaks throughout which created the effect seen. The Black on the wings was carefully drybrushed Shadow Grey and then Space Wolves Grey. Dark Angels Green was carefully drybrushed into the "cracks" in the skin, followed by a highlight of Goblin Green. Finally the red was painted Vallejo Model Colour Cadmuim Maroon, followed by thin highlights of pure Blood Red. I used the Blood Red very thin and used around 10 coats to create the depth. Finally a coat of Matt varnish was given to the red areas.

howdy - Very dramatic color scheme. I almost didn't notice the greens until you mentioned it and I had to look - lol. I do like the bright red... peace

Beautiful work, I might try to add contrast to the bone color, especially under the wing. This is such a cool model, nice job.
