This was a quite funny model to paint. The armor gave me some headaches along the way, but that was strongly compensated by the cloak and the tabard. They were truly fun to paint
For the skin I used a basecoat Schorched Brown with a little sunny skintone and then - Sunny Skintone - Elf Flesh - Skull White
The cloak was basecoated with shadow grey from GW. For the shadows I mixed it with Chaos Black, and then added some turquoise too.
I highlighted it with Skull White in about 7 stages, where I also mixed a tiny bit of Sunny Skintone, from Vallejo, in each stage. Remember to only add a tiny bit, you must only be able to feel it, not directly see it. The reason why I did this is that it gives the white a more natural feel.
On the gold filigree I used a special technique, which I actually don't know if any other has used before. Anyways: I basecoated it with Schorched Brown. Then - Vermin Brown - Leprous Brown - Skull White.
When I had made some normal gold, I began to swap some of the colors with different tones of Shadow grey mixed with white. Fx on the lightest points I used a very light tone of shadow grey, and on the medium parts I used shadow grey mixed with only a little bit white.
The reason why I did this was that I needed a very cold gold to work with the color scheme.
I discovered this technique by accident and I think I am going to call it: "Swapping"

Very nice job on the blendings and on the face. The expression is priceless.

The skin is great, the hands in particular have a very realistic look. The armour is very nice, also. While I like the turquoise on the helm and shoulderpads, there's something about the turquoise robe that just doesn't seem up to the standard of the rest of the piece.

Beautiful blending! I like the job on the armor and the compliment of the color used for the robe.
