Ultramarine Veteran by Stef

Ultramarine Veteran by Stef
Description : My entry for this month is an Ultramarine Veteran Space Marine.

The blue was painted using GW Ultramarines Blue, then given a dark blue glaze before highlighting up mixing more and more Space Wolves Grey to the Ultramarines. It was also given a glaze in between each highlight layer.

The creamy white loin cloth was painted with GW Graveyard Earth, then highlighted up to Bleached Bone. Then given a Flesh Wash/Yellow Ink glaze before highlighting up to pure white.

The White was painted using the old GW Ghostly Grey, followed by pure Skull White. The Black was highlighted by mixing more and more Bleached Bone into Chaos Black.

The Metals were painted with Tin Bitz first, then Boltgun Metal before being given a Black Ink wash. They were then highlighted all the way up to Mythril Silver.

I al particularly proud of the freehand 'U' on the shoulder pads and chest. This is the first time I have tried any sort of freehand and I think it came out pretty well.

Very nice blends on the blue and the tabbard. The freehand also looks very well done.
