Nothing very fancy here, but I am overall happy with it. I started painting this mini to practice using the Reaper Master Series paints, which I do feel more comfortable with now. In particular I wanted to test the darker skin tones. I had always heard that you shouldn't highlight darker skin tones too much - hopefully I hit the right balance on that. The makeup really made a huge difference, lightened up the face a lot and added some much needed visual interest there. This is the second fig I've done where I've been experimenting with doing the darklining as a final stage, and much darker than I usually do. It really seemed to 'pop' a bit more once I did that, so experiments will continue. There are some additional views of this mini at http://www.coolminiornot.com/92762. |
