High Elf Elemental Mage by THuff

High Elf Elemental Mage by THuff

Description : This i a great figure for everything except the facial features. I think it is impossible to make this face look feminine.

Although this was a commission, the majority of this mini stays with a color scheme that I am using for my army. The blues are done using GC Magic Blue, Electric Blue and White wih a few shadings of Storm Blue.

The dress uses Vallejo MC Azure mixed with levels of white to get the highlights.

I used green stuff to extend each of the elements out to the edge of the base.

Elements -
Earth - Terracotta with Bonewhite
Water - Scurf Green with Hawk Turquoise
Fire - Red Gore, Blood Red, Blazing Orange, and Golden Yellow
Air - Magic Blue, Electric Blue, and White

Hope you like it.

Excellent use of color. They almost seem a little too bright in some places. I really like the elementals and you are right about GW's lack of feminine faces. The range of color and the freehand on the cloak are superb.

Definately a very bright paint scheme, but it works for this mini. You are not kidding about the face. The hair could use some shading as it seems to bright but other than that, a very solid piece.

Nice work on the blues and I like what you've done with the globe he's stand on (floating over?). The elementals are good too. The photoshop cutout is a bit harsh though, kind of disorienting.

Howdy - I would have to agree, something about the croping/dropout makes it a hair blurry... don't really know why. Other than that, certainly a well painted figure. And the extension of the elements is great! - peace

I really like your work with the elements, each looks distinct and also part of a whole. Good choice for the freehand, adds something without getting too busy. Highlights on some skirt folds look a little abrupt.
