Princess of Hell by Lavron Yor

Princess of Hell by Lavron Yor
Description : First, this is my first mini after getting to watch Jen Haley, Marike Reimer and Zach Lanier. I can't stress how helpful it is to watch a really great painter in action.
So, I started with a black priming and then the wings and the whip were just Vallejo charred brown and bestial brown, only much thinner than usual with about 50% paint and 25% matte medium and 25% distilled water. I found the medium/water mix to make the paint much more workable. The skin started with Dark Fleshtone then DF and Dwarf Skin then just DS then DS mixed with Elf Skintone for highlights. The bra, stockings and cape were Gory red and then Bloody red. The sword NMM was just cool grey and black to darken and white to lighten. The gold NMM was Charred brown, Beasty Brown, then Cobra Leather, then Gold Yellow and then white each mixed a little into the next color up. The horns were Charred brown, then Dwarf skin and then Bleached bone.
I practiced eyes on a complete team of Blood Bowl players before I did the eyes of the Princess. Practicing things like eyes and details on tabletop models really helps your quality on show pieces. Please feel free to critique or ask questions and I am glad to see some new and some old faces out there.

Really fantastic work on the face. Very clean overall and the golds look nice. Keep working on your silver/steel NMM and the wings look a tad bit flat.

Teriffic stuff though Michael, your best yet.

I'm glad to get a closer look at this than I did at GenCon. The face is great, subtle skintones and nice expression. I also really like the leathery look of the wings, and the griminess of the skull pile.
