Ashan'Tyr (Rackham) by Tooshy

Ashan'Tyr (Rackham) by Tooshy
Description : Ashan'Tyr is one of my favourite Rackham minis. Her pose is full of grace; beautiful but deadly. She had been a WIP for almost 2 years, with just her cowl and base skin colour done when I finally picked her up again last month.

In my mind she is the best mini I have completed to date - but we all love the last one we just painted huh? ;o) She is painted with a mixture of Vallejo (V) and Miniature Paints (MP). Colours as follows:

Skin: base Liquitex Burnt Sienna+Earth Brown (MP). Highlight: Ivory
Cowl(Hood): Sand (MP) + Cobra Leather (V) + Bonewhite (V)
Gems: Flat blue (V) + Ivory (V)
Claws: Umber(MP) + Plague Brown (V) + Bonewhite (V)
Dress: Flat Red (V) + Burgandy (MP) + brown/black ink wash then highlight with Orange Fire(V) + Ivory (V) to base

The base is the most technical I have created so far. It's amazing what you can do with some coffee stirrers from Costa, some cork, gravel and odds and sods! Oh and I used the Woodland Scenics Easy Water resin beads.

Thank you for looking, comments welcome :o)

Great work, perhaps my favorite work you've done. The blending and colors are right on and the base is perfect!

I love the "skintones" (furtones...) on this one. Lovely.

Lovely paint. Lovely composition. Nicely done.

Lovely piece - smooth painting, and wonderful colour choices. I particularly like the harmony between skin tone and dress colour. And the face is wonderfully done.

Wow, those are some smooth blends. The colors really work on this one as well. I wish the pictures were a bit bigger to see more of what you had done, but aside from that I really like this miniature. Kudos

Thank you so very much to those who voted for me. I am honoured and thrilled to have placed. I'll be wearing a faster pair of boots next time and I'll catch Rodnik up ;)
