Not a bad job, I think the fire extinguisher needs a letter to show us what type it is. That power fist would look nice with some freehand on it, and wait a moment, wasn't this one of the disquallified entries? No, it is just your usual flawless level of painting. Beautiful.

Wonderful! I love the rust, wear and corrosion. There's a really great mix of textures and effects here, all of it painted with evident skill. There's not really anything I can see to suggest for improvements!

Wren, that is a beautiful job on the blade and the smooth blending. If the breastplate is supposed to be copper, I think it needs a little more of an orange tint, but overall, the technique looks great. BTW, are you going to Gencon this year?

Wow, I really like the blade and the breastplate. I think the photo is a bit overexposed though and that's letting you down. The face looks amazing too. Great!
From: Rhonda Bender (Wren) @ 24.214.41.234 (Mon 29 May 2006 05:31:56 PM CDT)
Thanks for the comments! Yep, I'm planning to attend GenCon, are you? I agree, the copper recipe needs tweaking.

Wow! The flesh tone and base are superb!

Nice job on everything, Flynn. I hate to say that I really don't like the photoshop background, but the NMM and face look really well done.

Nifty job on the purple armour. The face is lovely, and I like the hair, although I think maybe the top highlights are just a smidge too light.

I think it's a great piece. The flower pot barn is a nice touch. Some parts still seem a bit rough/rushed, but overall it's a nice presentation.

Very cool scene, I really like the overall look of this! I like the variety of the dogs, and the farmer's face is very nice, and I agree, great job on the nails! I do plan to attend GenCon this year, do you?

Oh, I like the placement of highlights on the scythe, and the rust looks great, just looks like you need to smooth out the layers a little. (And I know that's not as easy as it sounds.)
From: Michael Stubbs` (LavronYor) @ 12.0.237.134 (Thu 25 May 2006 10:25:59 AM CDT)
Nice job on most everything. The blade looks like it needs something, and the shield maybe needs some highlighting on the rim. cheers.

The tattoos are maybe a little too faded, but otherwise look great, nice realistic colour. I also like the tartan, and his bracers. Base is well suited. Shading on the sword looks a little rough.

This is a Hasslefree miniature i loved painting!
It's painted in 5 hours and was the canvas for experiments on blacks and textures. I painted black with different technics and colors for the three main parts of the mini: the hair, boots and catsuit. I tried to simulate latex clothing for the catsuit.
The title for the base isn't made yet as i'm waiting for a photoetched part at the moment.
Comments are welcome, thx to all! - Michael

The mini looks great. The base looks like it needs some color variation to make up for a mostly monochrome theme. Also, highlighting the crumbled corner might help.

Great job on the base and the head/hair. The outfit doesn't look quite right to me- latex would have a different reflection- I think. :)

Wonderful face, and I love the junkyard base. I have to agree with molebrain that the reflections on the outfit look a little off, maybe it needs a bit of midtone transition.
From: Michael Stubbs` (LavronYor) @ 12.0.237.134 (Thu 25 May 2006 09:58:07 AM CDT)
Beautiful piece and really nice base. To me, the tabard looks like it could use some more contrast as does the top of the log compared to the underside. The freehand is really excellent.
From: molebrain (molebrain) @ 64.94.180.150 (Thu 25 May 2006 04:20:47 PM CDT)
I agree the freehand is crisp, and the base is full of character. The tabard does seem a bit bare and the mouth looks a bit odd, but that could be the sculpt.

The freehand is superb, I'm in awe of what you've done there, and I too really like the base. The cloth areas look like they need a bit more shading to my eye.

Nice job on the visor and the rusty O2 tanks. I would try to make sure that the highlights on top are brighter than hihglights under things.

Very cool idea for how to paint this, and nice execution of it! The rusted wrench looks great, and I also really like the wear and age on the model as a whole. Great job!
